U-20 WWC: Falconets ready for tough Netherlands duel

· Sports

Falconets head coach, Chris Danjuma is looking forward to a tough duel against Netherlands but expects his team to prevail.

Danjuma’s side will take on the Dutch in their quarter-final clash at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Sunday night.

The encounter billed for the Estadio Alajuela Morera Soto will kick-off at 11.30pm.

The Falconets finished top of Group C after winning all group games against France, Korea Republic and Canada.

The Dutch came second in Group D and proved their class in a tough section that included the United States of America and Ghana.

“The Dutch are a super-strong squad to have survived that group where the Americans were sent packing. In any event, any team in the quarter-finals must be a super-strong squad. We will not under-rate them, just as we did not under-rate any of France, Korea Republic and Canada.

“As I said at the beginning of the tournament, we are taking it one match at a time. Our overall plan for each of the games in the group phase worked well.

“And I believe that our overall plan for the match against The Netherlands will work as well,” Danjuma told nff.com.
